A revolutionary step in the global health sector, Agent Hospital pushes the boundaries of artificial intelligence technology to provide fully automated services. This hospital is the world’s first to be entirely managed by artificial intelligence. There is no physical building for Agent Hospital; all services are provided digitally through robot doctors and autonomous systems.
While the hospital’s daily treatment capacity is limited to 3,000 patients, there are plans to increase this number to 10,000 patients per day in the future. This figure is equivalent to the number of patients typically treated by human doctors in two years. The 14 artificial intelligence doctors and 4 virtual nurses at Agent Hospital were developed by researchers at Tsinghua University and equipped with a large language model (LLM). These AIs manage the diagnosis and treatment processes very quickly and effectively.

In addition to managing treatment processes, AI doctors analyze patients’ treatment histories to create appropriate treatment plans. AI doctors can predict future health problems by analyzing collected data, thereby offering a chance to mitigate potential effects. However, despite these technological advancements, it is emphasized that AI cannot fully replace real doctors; the importance of human qualities such as compassion, warmth, and emotion is maintained. Since every patient is unique, it is stated that information provided by AI needs to be evaluated by real doctors.
