An icon of American muscle car culture, the Plymouth Barracuda, was reinterpreted through a collaboration between McLaren and eBay. This 1973 model vehicle, while maintaining the classic American muscle car aesthetic, was reshaped with modern touches by McLaren. The vehicle was painted in McLaren’s historic racing color, Papaya orange, adding a modern touch to its classic look.

In addition to the changes in the exterior design, significant improvements were made to the technical features. Even in the engine part, which McLaren did not directly contribute to, significant updates were made with the support of eBay. The vehicle changed its original suspension system to Mopar coilovers and its brake system to Wilwood discs. Along with these changes, new brake lines, proportioning valves, and new cylinders were added, enhancing brake performance.

The engine likely uses a 340 V-8 engine which has been enhanced with modified exhaust system headers. The automatic transmission used in the vehicle transmits power to the rear wheels. During this power transmission, the wheels were also replaced with 15-inch Torq Thrust models from American Racing, aligning with the vehicle’s muscular appearance.

Renovated Interior Design

There are also innovations in the interior design. The interior was completely renewed with a new steering wheel, racing seats, and upholstery. It is noted that all parts of the vehicle were supplied through the eBay platform thanks to the collaboration with eBay.
