Qualcomm aims to carry its success in smartphones to the computer sector. The company’s newly launched Snapdragon X Plus is heating up the competition in the industry. Snapdragon processors are a guarantee of high performance in phones; now they are making an appearance in the PC market with the same reliability.

Snapdragon X Plus Specifications and Performance

The Elite model, the first member of the Snapdragon X series, attracted attention with its impressive performance. The new chip X Plus takes the features of the Elite model even further. Compared to the Snapdragon X Elite, the X Plus model does not compromise on performance despite the core count dropping from 12 to 10. With its Hexagon NPU chip, X Plus reaches 45 TOPS of processing capacity, while its Adreno GPU offers up to 3.8 TFLOPs of processing power. CPU performance is also impressive with 42MB of cache memory.

The new X Plus supports connectivity technologies such as X65 5G, Wi-Fi 6, 6E, 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. According to Qualcomm, the X Plus chip beats Apple’s M3 by 10 percent in multi-core tests, but lags slightly behind in single-core performance. According to Tom’s Hardware’s tests, the X Plus scored 2400 points, while the M3 processor scored 3082 points.

In the Intel benchmark, the X Plus proves to be 37 percent faster than the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H in multi-core tests. In Cinebench tests, the X Plus performs better using fewer resources than Intel.

Snapdragon X Series Launch and Expectations

The Snapdragon X series is expected to launch in mid-2024. Although it is not yet clear which computer models it will be included in, this new chip of Qualcomm seems to have an important place in the computer market.
