YouTube admitted to accidentally banning many content creators’ channels due to a system error in the recent past. Users were shocked when they discovered their channels had been removed under the pretext of ‘Spam and Deceptive Practices.’ The lack of clarity from YouTube on this matter caused concern among content creators.
On Thursday night, YouTube announced on social media platform X that some channels were mistakenly marked as spam and therefore removed. The company stated that it is continuing its efforts to restore the mistakenly removed channels and warned that there could be delays in restoring playlists. However, feedback from users on Friday morning indicated that the issue had not been fully resolved.
Channel Restoration Processes Continue
During the restoration process of the channels, some content creators reported that their files were lost and they did not receive sufficient help when they contacted support. Additionally, some YouTube Premium subscribers reported losing access even though they had not uploaded videos.
YouTube apologized for the mistake and announced that it is actively continuing its efforts to restore the removed channels and subscriptions. The company stated that they are closely monitoring the situation and will make the necessary updates.
