Google’s popular web browser Chrome can reduce its performance by increasing resource usage when many tabs are opened. To address this issue, Google has developed a new feature that will provide information about tabs affecting users’ performance. This feature, currently being tested in Chrome’s Canary version, will alert users when it detects high CPU usage.

Alert System for Tabs Lowering Performance in Chrome

Chrome Testing New Feature that Monitors Tab Performance

This new feature sends an alert message from the top right corner to identify tabs that negatively affect your browser’s performance. The alert provides details on which tabs are consuming excessive resources and how they affect browser performance. With this information, users can quickly take necessary actions to improve browser performance.

In Chrome’s Canary version, those who want to try this feature can activate it by going to Chrome’s Flags settings and enabling the #performance-intervention-ui and #performance-intervention-demo-mode tags. Access to performance alerts can be gained from the settings menu.

Google has not yet announced when this feature will be available to all users. However, it is anticipated that this feature could significantly improve the experience for Chrome users. Continuation of such innovations is expected to maintain and enhance browser performance.
