South Korea-based technology giant Samsung continues to innovate in foldable phone technology while at the same time making some strategic decisions. The company has previously announced that it is working on the ‘FE‘ series, which aims to offer affordable foldable phones. However, according to the latest information, Samsung is planning to go back this way. Especially the possibility of canceling the work on the ‘Galaxy Z Fold6 FE‘ model is on the agenda. This decision was driven by insufficient differentiation between products and uncertain market conditions. Interestingly, despite the removal of the S Pen support, the design of the phone did not reach the desired level of thinness.

2024 Galaxy Unpacked Event and Expected Models

Samsung Considers Canceling Foldable 'FE' Series

As the Galaxy Unpacked event, which will be held in July 2024, approaches, Samsung is reportedly only going to unveil the ‘Galaxy Z Flip6‘ and ‘Galaxy Z Fold6‘ models. It is stated that these models will have flagship status and will be released with a high price tag.

TheElec reports that both models are ready for mass production. However, users expecting a thinner foldable phone are warned to keep their expectations low. It is reported that the folding tests for the ‘Galaxy Z Fold6‘ were successful, but it is not possible to make the device even thinner. These developments indicate a significant change in Samsung’s strategy in the foldable phone market.
