Netflix’s co-CEO Ted Sarandos recently evaluated the success of Oppenheimer and Barbie movies on digital platforms. Sarandos stated that despite Christopher Nolan‘s passion for cinema screenings, he believes these films could achieve the same success on digital platforms like Netflix.

“Oppenheimer and Barbie Could Achieve the Same Success on Netflix”

They would achieve the same success on Netflix,’ said Sarandos, arguing that the quality of a film’s viewing does not depend on the size of the screen it is shown on. Although Christopher Nolan is somewhat reserved towards digital broadcasting, the Oppenheimer and Barbie movies have made their place in digital spaces. Oppenheimer can be watched on Prime Video, and Barbie is available on Apple TV. This situation demonstrates that digital platforms, as well as cinemas, can host movies.
