Developed to consolidate its leading position in the mobile processor sector, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite platform was notable for its promises of artificial intelligence and high performance. However, real user experiences are questioning the reality of these claims. Particularly, independent tests conducted on high-end laptops such as the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge show significant discrepancies between Qualcomm’s official results and independent test outcomes.
Test Results Far from Qualcomm’s Stated Values
According to the Geekbench test results released by the company, the processor’s single-core score was stated as 2,977, and the multi-core score as 15,086. However, tests conducted by users yielded much lower scores, with 1,829 for single-core and 11,379 for multi-core. Even when plugged in, the improvement is minor; reaching only 1,841 and 11,537 points respectively.
These results cast a shadow over Qualcomm’s technological superiority and are creating trust issues among users. For instance, even an older device like the iPhone 12 mini scoring 2,141 on single-core shows that Snapdragon X Elite is unable to deliver the expected performance.
It seems there are several areas Qualcomm needs to reconsider regarding its market leadership and technological innovations. As competition intensifies in the technology world, such performance issues could pose serious challenges for brands.
