Wilhelm Kicherer focused on electric vacuum cleaners with a vision to simplify household chores, creating a revolution in this field. These innovative products for the time quickly made the brand well-known.

The origin of the brand’s name is quite interesting. It emerged from the combination of the German word ‘familie’ meaning ‘family’ and Kicherer’s surname, forming ‘Fakir’. This name led many to mistakenly believe it was a Turkish brand.

However, Fakir’s connection to Turkey cannot be entirely dismissed. In 1985, through a strategic move by Saruhan Holding, the brand entered the Turkish market. This move spearheaded the brand’s rapid growth and recognition in Turkey. Saruhan Holding began purchasing shares in 2005 and acquired all shares of Fakir’s production facilities in Germany by 2009, fully integrating the brand into its operations. With this acquisition, Fakir has become a fully Turkish brand.
