The adventure started by a group of voice actors and actors began with the broadcasting of FRP (Fantasy Role Playing) games on Twitch and YouTube. This team gained a huge fan base with the content they created and they decided to expand their production, which they named Critical Role. They launched a Kickstarter campaign that garnered so much support that it led them to sign with Amazon Prime Video and create their own animated series, The Legend of Vox Machina. The series has received critical acclaim and is now set to return for its third season. The first two seasons of the series aired in January 2022 and January 2023 and will air in the fall of this year.
New Broadcasting Platform “Beacon”
Meanwhile, the Critical Role team announced their own streaming platform, Beacon, leaving Twitch and YouTube. This platform will offer exclusive content specifically for Critical Role fans. The team is also working on a second project, The Mighty Vein, inspired by the Dungeons & Dragons games. For this project, they are collaborating with Prime Video and 560 hours of content has been prepared for this project. It is also rumored that there is a big movie project in this collaboration. Critical Role has made a successful transition from the game world to the movie and TV series industry and continues to offer new and diverse content to its fans.
