WhatsApp is constantly adding new features to improve the user experience. Finally, among the innovations added to the‘Communities‘ feature, the ability to hide groups stands out. This feature is currently available in the beta version of the Android version of the app WABetaInfo and is being tested.
Groups in Communities Can Now Be Hidden
With this new tool, users will be able to hide certain groups within the community from the home screen. This is a big advantage, especially for groups where sensitive topics are discussed or more confidentiality is required. WhatsApp also adds a hidden icon, making it easier to understand which groups are hidden. This symbol allows members of the group to be aware of secret groups and still be aware of what is happening in the group.
It also allows administrators to keep groups out of the public view. This allows administrators to manage more private group chats more easily. It is not yet clear when WhatsApp will roll out this new privacy feature to all users, but when it does, it is expected to significantly improve community management and user privacy.
