The launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 led to a remarkable increase in internet usage, bringing some issues especially for users with data limits. It was announced that downloads of this popular game, released on October 25, accounted for 19% of total internet traffic. This situation prompted many users to be more cautious about their data limits.

Data Limits Are Being Reconsidered

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Led to a Significant Increase in Internet Traffic

The PlayStation version of the game has a file size of 84.4GB, while the PC version is 102GB. With additional content like Modern Warfare II and III, it is indicated that players could reach a total data consumption of up to 300GB. These large file sizes have started to become a serious issue, especially for users with data limits.

Internet providers like Comcast impose a 1.2TB data limit, and additional charges may apply if this limit is exceeded. Data limits, which were lifted during the pandemic, have started to be reinstated in most states. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) continues to review the policies of internet providers regarding data limits and is researching the impact of such restrictions on consumers. The new situation brought by Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has led to a reconsideration of data limits.
