Apple, having introduced Vision Pro earlier this year and launched it amid high expectations, has made a significant decision. According to The Information, the tech giant announced that it has reached its production targets for this year and has the necessary inventory levels. This success aligns with Apple’s goal of producing approximately 600,000 units of Vision Pro. The company is now planning to temporarily halt production with its assembly partner Luxshare. This will take effect next month, and the current daily production rate of 1000 units will slow down.

Apple, Having Met Production Targets, Plans to Slow Down Vision Pro Assembly

Apple Plans to Halt Production of Vision Pro

The significance of Apple’s step is notable considering it had a production capacity that sometimes reached 2000 units per day. So far, between 500,000 and 600,000 Vision Pro assemblies have been completed. Additionally, thousands of components that were left pending due to incorrect forecasts are expected to be evaluated during this process. Among other plans for Vision Pro, Apple intends to reduce costs and add Apple Intelligence features to the device using the M5 chip. These strategic moves align with statements from Apple CEO Tim Cook about his desire to expand the reach of Vision Pro to broader audiences. However, Cook also mentioned that this $3500 product is not designed for the mass market.
