Humane is a tech company founded by former Apple employees Imran Chaudhri and Bethany Bongiorno. In recent months, it has launched the artificial intelligence-powered‘AI Pin‘, which is described as a screenless and wearable phone. With a $699 price tag, this product was able to perform phone-like functions through voice. However, users noted that the product did not meet expectations, features did not work properly and it was not as fast as the phones. Tech YouTuber Marques Brownlee called the AI Pin ‘the worst product I’ve ever seen’.

Could Humane be Sold for $1 Billion?

Humane Sells Company to Avoid Going Under After AI Pin Fails

After this failure, Humane‘s future is uncertain. Bloomberg‘s News According to Humane executives, Humane plans to sell the company and has set a price range of $750 million to $1 billion. However, there is no clear information on how much the company is worth and who might want to buy it. The product was riddled with user experience issues, poor battery life, overheating and failed to deliver on its promised features, which negatively impacted the company’s value.

The CosmOS operating system developed by the company was capable of responding to voice questions with artificial intelligence models and recognizing objects through its camera. However, these features were not found sufficient by users. Now, Humane‘s directors are hoping to divest the company in this difficult situation. However, the high asking price seems to be a factor that may make it difficult for them to find a buyer. Time will tell how the company will proceed and who the potential buyers might be.
