Tesla
company continues to work on humanoid robot technology and has taken another important step in this field. The robot, which the company calls ‘Optimus‘, has become able to successfully perform simple tasks in a factory environment. As Elon Musk noted, the robot is now fully autonomous. Battery can perform the process of lining up its cells. This demonstrates Tesla’s progress in artificial intelligence and robotics.

Performance of Optimus in the Factory

In the newly released video, we can see how Optimus moves around the factory and performs tasks. The robot can operate in real time using end-to-end neural networks and equipped with 2D cameras, touch and force sensors. Thanks to these sensors, Optimus can perceive its surroundings and is capable of taking long walks with less human intervention.

Future Plans and Developments

Elon Musk also announced that by the end of this year they plan to add a new hand to the robot’s hand that more closely resembles a human hand. This will allow Optimus to perform more complex tasks.

Although Optimus’ widespread use is not yet clear, Musk predicts that it could be launched in 2025. The robot is expected to find a wide range of uses from homes to factories. However, given that Musk’s previous predictions have often failed to materialize, a firm release date will require more data and testing to be completed.
