WhatsApp is developing a new feature to further strengthen user privacy. This feature, discovered in the beta version of iOS, will provide a function to prevent screenshots of other users’ profile photos. This security measure, which is already available for Android users, will also be applied to the iOS platform.
When the new feature is activated, an iPhone user will receive a ‘Screen capture blocked’ warning when they try to save another person’s profile picture as a screenshot. WhatsApp states that it has taken this step to increase the security of its users. However, it is not yet clear when this new feature will be available. This feature, which is currently only being tested in beta, may soon be available for all iPhone users.
